I'm on Smith Street with some friends in front of a place called SAFE. It's a hotel/hostel for transients that rents its rooms by the day or week. We're hear that there's a huge flood in Lower Manhattan.

Later, we're in a large apartment when one of our friends shows up. He's soaking wet and has brought two other young guys. They're all thin and very hippy-looking with large backpacks. Our friend says that he found the other guys in the flood area and brought them back to stay here. We suggest that maybe he takes them to SAFE.

Later, I'm relating this dream to someone.

Later, we're all sitting down to breakfast at the apartment. I look to see what's for breakfast as everyone else slows saunters in.

I'm in a high school trying to find a bathroom. I have a massive nosebleed and want to clean it up. When I enter a large restroom, I find that every stall is occupied by teenage couples making out. I finally just go to a mirror to try to wipe off my face. A couple of students come up to harass me. One of them grabs me from behind, nearly breaking my neck. I retaliate and end up killing him (and maybe his friend). The crowd quickly scatters. I go to a sink and try to clean off all the blood (mine as well as theirs).

I get scared of getting caught and try to run to a classroom before the police and authorities are alerted. With the police just outside, I run into a classroom and sit next to a couple of malcontents. I ask one of them for some paper so I can pretend to do schoolwork.

During a break, a couple of Asian girls get up to go talk to the police. I stop one of them and ask her what she thinks she saw. She's a little scared of me but is obviously intending to rat me out. I recount my side of the story, up to the point where the two guys attacked me. I ask her what happened next. She says she doesn't quite remember. I say, "Well, you're not much of a witness then, are you?"

Later, a neighborhood thug is caught and implicated for the murders as well as abusing his own family. His wife and family, however, receive lots of food and goodwill from the community.

I'm wandering through an old house that's being used as a residence hall for my old college. As I wander through, I see a few people I know. I go to the restroom & stand at the urinal. For some reason the urinal keeps flushing and water gets on me as I pee. Then Josh Endicott comes up to me and laughs. Apprently, he's the one pulling the prank on me.

I enter a lounge where a handful of students are playing 7-card stud. One of them asks me if I want to play. I ask him if they ever play for real money. He says yes and I suggest, very seriously, that we play some hold'em for real money. As they wrap up their game, I try to call my mom to tell her I won't be home til later. I try the speed-dial options on my phone but they don't seem to work. I dial her manually but see her walking down the hall. I hang up and tell her that I'm going to hang out here and talk to some old friends. She asks me who I know here. I tell her they're mostly people who started college as I finished since it's been 7 years since I graduated. I don't want to tell her I'm playing poker.

She tells me that since I won't be home until late that I should turn out the kitchen late after I come in. We look outside the window and see the wind picking up. A wicker lounge chair is blown off a terrace and onto the lawn of an adjacent residence hall.

Monday November 22nd, 2004

I’m in a large field speaking before a huge gathering of people. I’m criticizing the town for something they did. After speaking passionately, my comrades and I walk away as the crowds mill about.

I walk along a tall wall and look for a way out. Once out, I walk along a dirt path with some black kids along another fence. I look through a break in the fence into another large dirt lot. A few kids are playing when the ground starts to ripple. I scream for them to run for it.

I start running along with a few of the kids. We end up in an area that looks like downtown Brooklyn. I watch as the ripples travel under the streets and cause car accidents. A semi drives swerves past us quickly, barely missing us.

I’m now with Susannah, who asks me what’s happening. I tell her giant worms (like in Dune) are awakening. She asks me how I know this. I say, “Don’t you remember a while ago I was seeing a day into the future?” We beging walking back.

Saturday November 20th, 2004

I’m in the middle of a poker hand. Guy to my right bets $400 to me. The board is 2378. I almost fold but then check my cards. I have A4s. I call the $400. We’re using colored Monopoly-sized money instead of chips. Another guy calls. A 5 hits on the river, completing my wheel. The first guy checks & the other guy checks out of turn, skipping me. I say, “Hey, wait.” I think for a moment and bet $400. As I’m trying to figure out what denominations to put out, the first guy tries to give me $400. I say, “What the hell are you doing? You can’t give me chips during play!” They both fold & I rake in my money.

I’m running the store at night. There are two adjacent stores and I’m trying to close one of them. I go into the store and yell “We’re closing this part of the store, you can get rung up here or take your items next door.”

I help a female employee gather up clothing items & other inventory from the floor.

I’m in a mall doing something when Justin Timberlake comes up to talk to me. I’m busy so I gesture for him to wait. He hands me a fan letter and points to a number, saying, “That’s my home number.”

Wednesday November 3rd, 2004

I’m on a bus going from work to a restaurant on Garnet Street. There are a lot of young black people on the bus, a few of who are arguing. I get to my stop and realize that a friend I thought was on the bus is someone else.

I get off and notice there are huge puddles of water on the streets and sidewalk. A couple of the young black women who get off with me are hopping the puddles, trying to get home.

I realize I don’t know where I am. I look around to see a few restaurants but nothing that looks interesting. I begin to walk down the sidewalk, trying to avoid the streams of water and other pedestrians.

The water turns to snow and I’m trudging through it with sandals on. I think to myself that I didn’t think it was going to be this cold.

I trudge up a hill and see Franklin Street. I figure I’m coming up on Geary and could call Wei Ming to see if she wants to have dinner with me. I dial her number and hear one of my own messages to her playing back.
